This bootcamp is taught by expert instructors who can help you quickly master technical basics of web development so that you’re job ready upon graduation.  

You’ll be taken through the fundamentals of creating and building dynamic webpages, designing the user experience of a website and using CSS.

The Australian Computer Society (ACS) has partnered with Goanna Education to develop this in-demand nationally recognised qualification and is actively involved in all aspects of the program and compliance.

  • Goanna Education will manage fees, enrolments, delivery of training and internship arrangements
  • ACS responsible for RPL, CT and issuance of certificates as well as reporting requirements to ASQA

Along with consultation with IT industry partners, this qualification has been designed as an intensive Bootcamp style program, with the intention to get candidates trained and employment-ready for a career in this rapidly changing industry.

This program also comes with future employment support upon successful completion of the qualification; in which Goanna Education will provide access to their network connections and employment gateways where possible to our industry partners. Although this does not guarantee employment outcomes it will provide candidates with the confidence to start their IT career journeys.

The skills required for these roles may include, but are not restricted to:

  • programming: building, testing and applying basic object-oriented language skills and software developments
  • front end web development: designing dynamic and complex websites, user experience solutions and documents using extensible mark-up languages
  • cloud architecture: developing, improving and designing cloud infrastructure, including disaster recovery plans

This course will still meet all the standard compliance requirements and has a 21 week* full-time study workload of 40 hours per week including virtual classroom sessions (35 hours per week) and self-guided learning (5 hours per week). The program will also include a 12-week internship with a 50/50 split of the full-time work hours divided between continued virtual classroom sessions and hands-on practical experience.

A comfortable workstation including an ergonomic desk and chair is required. There are minimal information technology requirements to optimally access the online learning system and resources:

Goanna Education requires candidates to meet some entry requirements prior to enrolment to ensure that candidates have the required skills and knowledge to successfully complete the qualification at this level.

Candidates must:

  • Preferably be 25 years old and above at the time of enrolment*
  • Be Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents; or Domestic students who are not classified as overseas students as defined in Section 5 of the ESOS Act.
  • Complete a Pre-enrolment interview which includes :
    • A discussion to ascertain the candidate’s past, current, and future employment aspirations. as well as the candidate’s ability to successfully participate and complete the course and any support mechanisms required to assist in the completion
    • Achieve satisfactory result of Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment including Learning, Reading, Writing, Oral communication and Numeracy. Candidates who do not pass the LLN test may be referred to other services to assist in gaining the relevant skills to undertake this course in the future.
    • Discussing the candidate's level of computer literacy - Candidates are required to have a moderate level of computer literacy and may be asked to complete a separate digital literacy test to identify their level of digital literacy.

Students will undertake various activities in an informal and formal assessment setting. The main assessment methods for the units within this qualification include knowledge-based questions and a project for each Unit of Competency.

Competency-based training

This qualification will be delivered using Competency-Based Training. Competency-Based training is a 'method of training that focuses on a learner’s ability to receive, respond to, and process information in order to achieve competency. It is geared towards the attainment and demonstration of skills to meet industry-defined standards, rather than to a learner’s achievement relative to that of others.' *

For example Term 1 includes 4 units therefore the instalment fee would be

$650 x 4 = $2600.

*However, because the application fee of $350 has already been invoiced and paid for, the total instalment fee will be $2600 - $350 = $2250.
