Specialisation
in Front End Web Development

This bootcamp is taught by expert instructors who can help you quickly master the technical basics of front end web development so that you are job ready upon graduation.

You will be taken through the fundamentals of creating and building dynamic webpages, designing the user experience of a website and become familiar with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.

Along with web development, you will also gain exposure to foundational programming techniques using JavaScript, including Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.

Specialisation in Cloud Architecture

The specialisation in cloud architecture has been designed to supplement the student’s existing and acquired technical knowledge throughout the course. 

Students will gain the ability to design, implement and improve cloud infrastructure using the AWS cloud platform as well as gain an understanding in how to apply these concepts in the Microsoft Azure platform.

Industry Certifications

Students will have the opportunity to sit industry certification exams from AWS and Microsoft during the Cloud component of the program.
Goanna Education is offering students a nationally recognised qualification as well as industry recognised certifications upon successful completion of the program.

Delivery mode/learning

The delivery mode is a blend of real-time virtual (synchronous online learning) facilitated by one of Goanna’s experienced trainers and self-paced learning which will be required to be completed outside the virtual classroom.

 

 Goanna Education  developed this in-demand nationally recognised qualification and is actively involved in all aspects of the program and compliance.

Along with consultation with IT industry partners, this qualification has been designed as an intensive Bootcamp style program, with the intention to get candidates trained and employment-ready for a career in this rapidly changing industry.

This program also comes with future employment support upon successful completion of the qualification; in which Goanna Education will provide access to their network connections and employment gateways where possible to our industry partners. Although this does not guarantee employment outcomes it will provide candidates with the confidence to start their IT career journeys.

The skills required for these roles may include, but are not restricted to:

  • front end web development: designing dynamic and complex websites, user experience solutions and documents using extensible mark-up languages
  • cloud architecture: developing, improving and designing cloud infrastructure, including disaster recovery plans
  • programming: building, testing and applying basic object-oriented language skills and software developments

This course has 29 weeks of formal studies with a full-time study workload of 40 hours per week including virtual classroom sessions (35 hours per week) and self-guided learning (5 hours per week and an additional 4 weeks for lodgement of Assessments or resubmissions if needed for a total of 33 weeks.

Students will undertake various activities in an informal and formal assessment setting. The main assessment methods for the units within this qualification include knowledge-based questions and a project for each Unit of Competency.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A comfortable workstation including an ergonomic desk and chair is required. There are minimal information technology requirements to optimally access the online learning system and resources:

  • A modern computer/laptop
    • RAM: Minimum: 8 GB; Recommended: 16 GB 
    • Processor: Minimum: x64 Processor: 1.6 GHz; Recommended: 2.0 GHz or faster
    • Hard disk: Minimum: 50 GB+
  • Webcam and microphone
  • Internet access (Broadband or higher)
  • A modern Web Browser (e.g. latest version of Google Chrome, etc).
  • Microsoft Windows 10 equivalent or higher
  • Minimum student software requirements are:
    • Microsoft Word 2010 or higher
    • Microsoft Project 2010 or higher
    • Microsoft Excel 2010 or higher
    • Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 or higher
    • Some modules may have additional software requirements
  • Any PDF reader
  • Other Free software applications will be required to be downloaded in order to complete some activities within the program. Goanna Education Trainers will provide information for these applications when applicable.

Goanna Education requires candidates to meet some entry requirements prior to enrolment to ensure that candidates have the required skills and knowledge to successfully complete the qualification at this level and meet NSW Smart and Skilled Eligibility Requirements. 

Candidates must:

  • Be 15 years old or over
  • No longer be at school
  • Reside or be employed in New South Wales Pass a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment
  • Be an Australian citizen, an Australian permanent resident, a humanitarian visa holder, or a citizen of New Zealand
  • Possess advanced IT skills, as this course is not designed for beginners. This can be demonstrated by either holding a Certificate IV in Information Technology or a higher qualification from Australia or overseas, or by having recent or current work experience in Information Technology
  • Be available full-time for the program duration

This course is fee-free for eligible individuals, as part of our commitment to accessible and equitable education. Training in priority qualifications is fee-free and fully funded by the NSW and Commonwealth governments, ensuring high-quality education is available to all.

Eligibility for Fee-Free Training:

  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander persons.
  • Persons with a disability (either on Disability Support Pension or with documented evidence of disability and additional support needs resulting from the disability).
  • Dependents of a person on a Disability Support Pension (proof of dependency on a Disability Support Pension recipient required).

For those who do not meet these eligibility criteria, the fees are structured as follows:

  • AUD 3,600 for individuals enrolling in their first course under the Smart and Skilled program.
  • AUD 4,060 for individuals enrolling in their second or subsequent course under the Smart and Skilled program.
